Outdoor Workshops

Piccadilly
green bexleyBCF

Green Bexley and Piccadilly, in conjunction with Bexley Parks and Recreation and the Bexley Community Foundation, have teamed up to provide bi-weekly outdoor nature appreciation workshops for kids starting in February. This series of nature-themed workshops will offer mindful, creative, social yet safe, and educational activities for kids and families to help us all  appreciate our natural wonders here in Bexley! Workshops will utilize natural materials and in the spirit of reusing and recycling; provide opportunities for attendees to use or reuse many items from home (not required, all necessary materials will also be available on site). Green Bexley will also be accepting material donations from Bexley residents. Material needs will be communicated in
workshop descriptions.

There will be 8 family spots available. The activity is for children ages 3 - 9, but the adult just needs to register the first child only, then there will be a question for additional children. Families will be sitting at the same table and one parent is required to attend.

Cost: Registration will require $10 at the time of purchase. If you only register one child, you will receive a $5 refund after registration.Thank you to the Bexley Community FOundation for providing grant money to help off-set some of the costs!

Saturday, April 24th: Spring Has Sprung!
During this series we've seen how many species like trees, birds and even snow fleas thrive in winter cold months. Now as we look around us we see how the warmth of spring gives us even more to enjoy and explore!
Explore: Nature Bingo Walk
Learn and Create: We'll be making wildflower seed balls, leaf mobiles & prints!

Materials (Reuse): Let's conserve material usage by using up what we've got! Materials to bring if you have at home are listed for each class, but don't buy, we'll have extra for you if needed! Tissue paper, twine or yarn, small size container - approx. 4" x 4" x 2" for taking home seed balls (they'll be wet), construction paper.
Instructor: Allyson Morena, Piccadilly Owner

In the event that a wait list is formed, we will consider adding an additional time from 12:30-1:30pm. This will be dependant on meeting the minimum attendance.
