Maple Syrup Workshop WI 21 (All Ages)

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

The City of Bexley/Recreation & Parks, in conjunction with the Boy Scouts and as part of the Bexley Arboretum's educational offerings, is hosting the annual Maple Syrup making workshop. All activities will occur at Jeffrey Park, with the initial meeting point at the Memorial Shelter House next to the playground. COVID-19 Policies will be in place for this event and emailed to those registered.

This activity is for all ages. You may register individually or by the family. You will indicate how many people in your household are attending. The $15 fee will get you one bottle of syrup, so if you want more than one bottle, you will need to register and pay for additional members individually.

Saturday, February 27, 9:00 to 11:00am: Sugar Maple Tapping
Meet arborists from the City of Bexley and our maple syrup consultant to learn how to identify tap maple trees and install buckets for sap collection.

Saturday, March 6, 7:00am to 2:00pm: Maple Syrup Production
Work with our maple syrup consultant and with other volunteers to evaporate the maple sap and turn it into maple syrup. It takes 42 gallons of sap to make a gallon of syrup! This date is a part of our Jeffrey Woods Festival, which also includes the Wood Chop Shop (separate registration required).
