Youth Tennis SP 24 (5 - 15 Years Old)

All Spring Youth Tennis has an inclement weather site at the Montrose Gym. If we have to move inside there will be an email sent to all participants that the lessons have moved from Jeffrey Mansion to the Montrose Gym.

Kids Klinic I (5 - 8 Years Old)
This class is an introduction for beginners with emphasis on ground strokes.

Kids Klinic II (5 - 8 Years Old)
This class is for students that have developed forehand / backhand strokes. Increased movement to the ball and the introduction of the serve will be covered.

Youth Tennis Lessons (9 - 12 Years Old)
This class is for students with limited playing experience. This class is introductory with an emphasis on ground strokes.

Youth Tennis Plus (11-15 Years Old)
Youth Tennis Plus will expand the Youth Tennis lessons for advanced players, working on stroke production, court positioning, playing strategy, etc.


All participants must have their own racket. 
The instructor has rackets available to sell at the first tennis class. All participants must provide their own racket. Below are some guidelines when selecting a racquet.  
Rackets may be purchased on first day of class.
21 inches 4-6 years old
23 inches 6-8-years old
25 inches 8-10 years old
26 inches 11 years old

Rain Site Information: 
The rain site is subject to Bexley Rec being granted access to school facilities. Should there not be an indoor rain site, we will do everything we can to make up any missed sessions.

Instructor: Shelby Cheses
Bexley Recreation Tennis is instructed by Shelby Cheses. She began teaching tennis while in high school giving private lessons and working for Bexley Recreation.  She played four years of varsity tennis and won the Ohio State Doubles Championship her senior year at Bexley High School. The tennis program follows the philosophy of the Bexley Recreation; the emphasis is on learning a lifelong skill, any competition is to be fun, everyone wins and nobody loses.
