All activities are for adults, except the Winter Walk & Owl Prowl. Please register as an individual adult and you will be asked how many family members will be attending with you when applicable.

Shimmer Watercolor Workshop for Kids and Adults (Jan. 18) - 6+
Instructor: Nora Steele
Discover the Eastern Forest in this Shimmer Watercolor Workshop led by artist and Naturalist Nora Steele. Participants will learn about the diverse flora and fauna that call Ohio home. In this class you will use shimmer watercolor that will make your flora and fauna come to life with a glowing 3-D effect. (Perfect for beginning and experienced artists looking to deepen their understanding of the natural world. Wear appropriate paint clothing.)

Crafting Herbal Cocktails (Jan. 24) - 21+

Instructor: PJ Ford
Join P.J. Ford, formerly of The Light of Seven Matchsticks and Law Bird, as this Bexley alum demonstrates the art of herbal mixology. P.J. will share his original recipes for delicious cocktails that incorporate fresh, dried and herbal syrups into alcoholic and alcohol-free variations creating a variety of flavors. Sip samples, take home recipes and join the fun as audience members are chosen to shake things up a bit.

Winter Walk & Owl Prowl (Jan. 25) - All Ages
Instructor: Nora Steele
Enjoy this guided, winter-nature walk with Naturalist Nora Steele as she focuses on winter wildlife, animal tracks, tree/bark identification and an owl prowl to watch for Jeffrey Woods’ breeding pair of Barred Owls. Learn why evergreens don’t lose all their leaves, where bumblebees go and what other critters do during cold winter months.

Build & Paint a Birdhouse (Feb. 8) - Ages 8 - 14
Instructors: Nora Steele & James Muller
Get ready for spring bird nesting with this fun Valentine's project for the birds. Join birding experts, James Muller and Nora Steele as they guide you through the simple construction and painting of your backyard birdhouse. James and Nora will also share valuable tips on backyard birds and what nest is best. (Precut materials and paint supplies will be provided, but appropriate paint clothing should be worn. 

Paint & Sip (Feb. 22) - 18+
Instructor: Caton Williamson
Enjoy some warm, herbal teas and tasty cookies while painting a work of nature art created by Caton - a naturalist and nature painter.  She will also give tips on how to create your own work of nature art. (Supplies provided but wear clothes appropriate for painting.
