The COSI Science Festival offers 75+ area community events happening April 30 - May 2 and with the Big Science Celebration on May 3 at COSI! This event will showcase accessible, hands-on science activities that encourage an interest in science, sparks curiosity, and creates lasting memories.

With the support of our COSI Science Festival Committee (including Bexley City Schools, CSG, Capital, St. Charles, and the Bexley Public Library) we are proud to be a part of the community events during the COSI Science Festival! Jeffrey Woods Nature Scavenger Hunt SU 25

  • Kids and families will discover and enjoy all the wonders of spring at Bexley’s 20-acre, Jeffrey Woods with a Bingo Nature Scavenger Hunt. Children will explore, find and mark off their bingo card several ecosystems and the critters, plants and trees that live there.

S.T.E.A.M.-U-Late Your Mind SU 25
  • *This is a family event - please register as the adult for your family*
  • Students in 1st through 4th grade, along with their parents, can participate in hands-on activities at “S.T.E.A.M.-ulate Your Mind at CSG.” Prepare for S.T.E.A.M. success and boost computational thinking with spatial reasoning and awareness kits. Watch live robot demonstrations from CSG’s and St. Charles’ FIRST Robotics teams. Experience the power of electricity through simple circuits and Van de Graaff generator demonstrations (a hair-raising experience!) Explore the Science of Sound, where kids can experiment with vibrations, pitch, and sound waves through interactive activities. Speak to students who will present the results of their various science and engineering research projects performed in labs at CSG, Ohio State, and beyond. This evening is also the CSG Arts Night Open House, so come for the science and stay for the art!

Think Global, Act Local! SU 25
  • *This is a family event - please register as the adult for your family - geared towards 3-8 years old)
  • Instructor: BrainBloom Academy will facilitate our learning stations with the assistance of Girl Scout Troop 6413.
  • Young scientists will have the opportunity to learn about the diverse wildlife of Bexley, especially in our local ponds and Alum Creek and the importance of keeping habitats, like Bexley, clean. Hands-on activities at various stations will address the impact of litter and pollution on our local community, and ways children can help by reducing waste and knowing what is recyclable and compostable.

From Seed to Harvest: Explore Bexley Gardens
  • *This is a family event - please register as the adult for your family*
  • Join us for soil demonstrations from Capital University, information on the positive impact of supporting farmers and eating healthy from Bexley Schools, and a tour of the Bexley Gardens with Master Gardeners to learn about gardening from soil, to planting seeds, to harvesting your crops. All participants will also pick a vegetable seed to plant in a pot and take home to grow!
