Junior Naturalist Certification (May 31)
Children will explore all parts of the woods and even under bark and logs to learn about the many woodland communities. Kids will also receive a packet of nature activities to do at home. Junior Naturalist Certificates will be awarded at the end of the program.

Going Buggy (June 7)
Spiders, Ants, Beetles … Oh My! Kids will enjoy investigating the dark and damp places of Jeffrey Woods in search of creepy crawlies. Be prepared to learn, make some new friends and get down and dirty.

Instructor: Shannon Heist
Shannon is a Naturalist at Blacklick Woods Metro Park with the Columbus & Franklin County Metro Parks. She has led  programs for all ages including Wild Edibles, Butterfly hikes, Flora & Fauna hikes, and many Fungi hikes. In her free time, Shannon enjoys baking and spending time with her dog, Rosie.

Instructor: Caton Williamson
Seasonal naturalist with Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. Ohio Wesleyan graduate with a major in Arts, Studio Arts and Zoology.
