Dance Program FA 25 (6 - 12 Years Old) - Contemporary & Modern FA 25 (Thu, 345p) - Zmuda Ballet & Tap (6 - 9 Years Old)This combination class is an introduction to beginner technique in ballet and tap for six to eight year olds. Students will learn beginner level steps, musicality and coordination through classroom exercises and creative choreography. Students must have ballet shoes and tap shoes for this class.Hip Hop (6 - 12 Years Old)Students will explore basic moves and routines for the hip hop style through classroom exercises and create choreography. Students must have tennis shoes or flat athletic shoes (ex. converse , keds, vans, etc.) for class.Jazz (6 - 9 Years Old)Students will learn basic steps and musicality for the jazz style through classroom exercise and and creative choreography. Students must have jazz shoes for this class.Contemporary and Modern (6 - 9 Years Old)Students will explore grounded movement, dynamic shifts, and expressive choreography through contemporary and modern dance techniques. Class includes floor work, improvisation, and phrase-building to develop strength, flexibility, and artistry. Students should wear form-fitting dancewear and may dance barefoot or in lyrical dance shoes.Fall to Winter Dance RegistrationThere is no recital for the Fall Dance Program. All participants who are enrolled in the Fall Dance Program will receive an email notification to register early for the Winter Dance Program, which includes a Spring Recital. To qualify for early registration, you must be registering for the exact same class as enrolled in for the Fall Dance Program (same time, day, instructor).Meet The instructorsMackenzie HannaMs. Mackenzie has worked with children of all ages as a teacher of both dance and Spanish. She has danced on her high school dance team. She has danced and choreographed with Miami University’s Vision Dance company in college, the theater company SNAP! and New Vision Dance Company. She also created and coached a dance team at a high school for three years. She has been teaching dance with Bexley Recreation for several years.Jennifer ZmudaMs. Jen has a Masters of Fine Arts with a Choreographic Emphasis from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Teaching Emphasis from the University of Utah. She also completed the ABT® Teacher Curriculum Training for Pre-Primary through Level 3. Alongside her teaching role at the Bexley Recreation Department, she serves as the photographer and filmmaker for BalletMet and owns a media production company, Jennifer Zmuda Photography.
