9:00 AM - 10:00 AM    Core Yoga FA 21 (18 & Up) - Core Yoga FA 21 (Session II)
This yoga class will focus on core strength and flexibility. It will teach good posture, connect mind-body awareness and build confidence. Appropriate for those in good physical condition with some yoga experience. Modifications will be given to allow the student to practice at their own level. This class will be held in-person, but there will also be a a zoom option if you choose to not attend in person. She found yoga to be a practice to maintain flexibility and strength in her body. Her yoga practice created space for self-inquiry and self-love on and off the mat. Anne believes yoga provides the transformational tools to live your life ON PURPOSE. Her role as a teacher is to empower her students to live their life to their fullest potential.

Have you ever wanted to do Yoga, but didn’t think you could get up and down on a mat?  Or, have you done Yoga, and now have wrist or knee problems that prevent mat practice?  Or do you just want to practice a gentle form of Yoga in which you will sit on or stand behind a chair?  If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, then Chair Yoga is for you.  It is real Yoga modified to be accessible to all.  Science is showing that Yoga is beneficial for everyone, that it is never too late to benefit from exercising, and that even a little exercise goes a long way to being healthier and feeling better.  Chair Yoga is more than a little exercise, but the person doing the practice is totally in charge of how much or how little is done.  Join us, and see what it can do for you. Instructor: Deborah Forsblom, RYT 500, Certified Chair Yoga Instructorforsblom@wideopenwest.com; (614) 253-2292Deborah Forsblom has been teaching yoga for two and a half years and has her RYT 500 and is a Certified Chair Yoga teacher. She teaches Chair Yoga at Grant Fitness and the Introductory Hatha Yoga class at Bexley Recreation. This yoga class will focus on connecting breath and movement, with a strong emphasis on alignment and hip openers for deep release. Class will take place in a moderately heated room. Some yoga practice recommended. This class will be held in-person, but there will also be a a zoom option if you choose to not attend in person. The most common question is “How is Pilates different from Yoga." Pilates lengthens and strengthens the muscles as well as uses core strength for every exercise. Although Pilates is non-aerobic, it is an extremely effective way to strengthen and condition the muscles of the abdomen and back, thus helping to build a “girdle of strength” around the spine. This class is designed to introduce you to Mat Pilates and is also for those with some experience.Instructor: Mindy Sybert has taught Pilates for the past 18 years. Mindy has been with the Pilates Studio of Bexley since 2013 until present. She is certified in Mat Pilates, Reformer, Tower, Chair, Cadillac and Barrel. Her education is through STOTT and Balanced Body.  Mindy has  worked with all ages and ranges of clients and athletes including Cirque du Soleil, the Ohio State University football team and Columbus Dance  Theatre.

This class is for both beginners and those who are still learning the basic poses, but are prepared to work on a more demanding  level in poses.  This class offers basic flexibility poses in different degrees of work. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing, (bare feet) and bring an empty stomach.Participants have the option to come in-person or participate via Zoom.
