9:00 AM - 10:00 AM    Senior Yoga WI/SP 24 (55+) - Senior Yoga SP 24 (S2)
Studies have shown the positive benefits of yoga for all ages. Yoga involves linking the mind, body, and breath. You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. Specifically designed for older adults, Beginner Yoga for Seniors, will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. The number one rule is that you do not do anything that hurts. This is not a gym workout. It is a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful. This is a mat yoga class. You need to be able to get down to the floor and back up again. If that is a problem, consider Chair Yoga. It has the same benefits.Instructor: Deborah Forsblom, RYT 500, Certified Chair Yoga, Certified Trauma Sensitive Yogaforsblombd@gmail.com; (614) 253-2292Deborah has been teaching yoga for more than eight years.
