My name is Katie Sarvas, I am a Recreation Supervisor who oversees our Jeffrey Summer Camp, Backpack, and SOCO programs. I was born and raised in Bexley and graduated from Bexley High School. As a child I participated in a lot of Bexley Recreation Programs, along with attending Jeffrey Summer Camp. In High School and in College I worked at the Bexley Pool as a lifeguard and swim instructor for several years. After college I worked at the Jeffrey Mansion Preschool as a teacher and a Director of one of our Summer Camps. I graduated Tiffin University with an education degree for middle school math and science. I have worked at Bexley Recreation as a Recreation Supervisor for over 6 years. The best part of my job in not only feeling like I am giving back to my community that gave so much to me, but is working with all of the people I get to work with. I love watching counselors learn and grow as human beings move on into their professional lives. Now I am watching kids I used to watch when I was younger become counselors, go off to college, and start to get into their professional lives. It truly is a very unique job and being able to really watch so many people grow up is very special. Bexley is a very special place, it is a small little city where almost everyone knows everyone, making it feel like a big family in a way. Outside of work you might find me out and about different parks, cities, states, or countries. I love to travel and experience as much as I can! You might also see me either walking or driving around with my dog Gus, he really prefers driving since he gets to stick his head out the windows, but his favorite is the sunroof. So far it is just me and Gus and hundreds and hundreds of kids that I call my family, along with all of the staff in the office and working on site in the programs.
