I moved to North Bexley 14 years ago and reside here with my husband Steve and our three kids. Prior to JMP, I spent most of my time volunteering and fundraising for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio (DSACO), as well as our local elementary, Maryland, on the PTO Board. Now I spend most of my weekends traveling both near and far to watch my kids play sports, #soccermom. Previously a Preschool Teacher in the Rainbow Room, I am excited to step into the role of Director and continue to grow the Jeffrey Mansion Preschool program.

My name is Alishia Dempsey and I'm a teacher at JMP. I went to Marshall University majoring in History and Sociology. In 2022, my family moved from the DC area to Bexley. I enjoy being with my kids, reading and baking.

Caroline Leatherman
Hi, my name is Caroline Leatherman! I grew up not too far from Bexley in Blacklick, Ohio. I recently graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Education. I have worked in Bexley for the past two years at Jeffrey Summer Camp and in the Aftercare program, and I am so excited to join JMP this year! Outside of JMP, I love spending time with my friends and family, reading, and traveling.

My name is Mr. Kyle Elder , and I am excited to be teaching here in the Bluebird Room! I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from Franciscan University in Steubenville and I joined the JMP team in August 2021. I love creating a classroom environment that’s full of creativity, curiosity, and laughter where everyone feels accepted and excited to explore and grow. When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me thrifting, working on DIY projects, or playing with my two spoiled dogs!

I am so excited to join the JMP family and am entering my fourth year teaching PreK. I live in South Bexley with my 5 year old daughter, Greta (who is in the Bumblebee room), my husband, Rob (Bexley class of 1997), and our cheweenie, Jerry Lee. I love to sing and dance and love all things Disney. Prior to finding my happy place as a PreK teacher, I worked as an instructional assistant for a multiple disabilities high school classroom with Columbus City Schools, and coached cheerleading at Bishop Hartley for 10 years. My favorite part of teaching PreK is connecting with my students and their families. I love getting to know them and learning about their special interests. Every day in PreK is full of laughter, fun, and wonder. When not teaching, I enjoy time reading, spending time with my extended family, and watching terrible reality television. I'm thankful to be a part of this special community and can't wait to see what memories we will make in the Rainbow Room!"

Tonia Smalley
My name is Mrs. Tonia Smalley. I have been an assistant teacher of 3/4 year olds at Jeffrey Mansion Preschool for almost 15 years. I have also worked with Bexley Recreation and Parks Jeffrey Summer Camp. I reside in South Bexley with my husband, of 30 years, Troy. We have two grown children, who attended Bexley Schools, and three grandchildren. My hobbies include, crafting and adult coloring. My husband and I enjoy camping with our two dogs, and watching college football. My favorite color is purple! Camping is my Happy Place!

Taylor Ringle

My name is Taylor Ringle, and I am the lead teacher in the Bumblebee Room. I attended Capital University’s School of Education and graduated with a degree in Intervention. I worked at JMP from 2018–2022 as both an assistant and lead teacher before spending four years as an Elementary Intervention Specialist within Columbus City Schools. I am very excited to have the opportunity to return to JMP! In my free time, I enjoy reading, kayaking, exploring new places around town, and spending time with my family.

Kate Pollock
My name is Kate Stadler Pollock. I have been part of the Bexley Rec family since the 22-23 school year with the after-school program and summer camp. I am starting my first year with Jeffrey Mansion Preschool in the Bumblebee room. In my freetime I enjoy making jewelry, spending time with my family, and going to concerts. I'm excited to have a great school year with our team of wonderful teachers and awesome kids!

Hi, my name is Stephanie Borders and I’m the lead teacher in the Caterpillar Room. I’m a lifelong Bexley resident and I live in South Bexley with my husband Brian and our two youngest daughters. Prior to my employment at JMP I spent time working at Montrose Elementary as a building substitute. In my free time I enjoy reading and crocheting. I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the 2024/25 school year!
