Although pilates is non-aerobic, it is an extremely effective way to strengthen and condition the muscles of the abdomen and back, thus helping to build a “girdle of strength” around the spine. This summer, students will create a fashion line from concept to collection. They will work both individually and collaboratively to bring their ideas to life while being guided step by step through the creative process. All materials are provided, and students keep the designs they create. Students will explore key elements of fashion design including concept development, trend inspiration, styling, textiles, sustainability, illustration, upcycle techniques, and basic sewing. The experience culminates in a magazine-style photoshoot and a runway presentation for friends and family. Pilates SU 26 (18+) - Pilates SU 26 Pilates lengthens and strengthens the muscles as well as uses core strength for every exercise. Although pilates is non-aerobic, it is an extremely effective way to strengthen and condition the muscles of the abdomen and back, thus helping to build a “girdle of strength” around the spine.
