Early Registration for Fall 2024 Participants (Dec. 1 - 23)
All participants who were enrolled in the 2024 Fall Dance Program received an email to register early. You must be registering for the exact same class for WI/SP as you did in the FA (day, time, instructor).
All dance programs are for girls and boys.
Ballet & Tap
This combination class is an introduction to beginner technique in ballet and tap for six to eight year olds. Students will learn beginner level steps, musicality and coordination through classroom exercises and creative choreography.
Students must have ballet shoes and tap shoes for this class.
Hip Hop
Students will explore basic moves and routines for the hip hop style through classroom exercises and creative choreography. Students should have tennis shoes or flat athletic shoes (ex. converse, keds, vans, etc) for class.
Jazz Dance
Students will learn basic steps and musicality for the jazz style through classroom exercise and and creative choreography. Students should have jazz shoes for this class.
Winter & Spring 2025 Dance Recital: Friday, April 11, 2025; Time TBA. There will be a dress rehearsal on Thursday, April 10, 2025; Time TBA. The rehearsal and recital will be held at a location to be determined. For the recital your child will be required to wear tights and a leotard. Tutus will be provided by the instructors for a small fee between $10.00 to $25.00.
Dance Instructors: Mackenzie Hanna / Jennifer Zmuda
Mackenzie Hanna
Ms. Mackenzie is a high school Spanish teacher. She has worked with children of all ages as a teacher of both dance and Spanish. She has been dancing since high school starting on the Gahanna Lionette Dance Team. In college at Miami University, she danced and choreographed for Vision Dance Company. After college, she has danced and choreographed for the theater company SNAP! and is a member of the Columbus professional New Vision Dance Company. In 2015, she started a dance team for the high school where she works. She is currently their coach and head choreographer, competing this year and winning first in their division of jazz.
Jennifer Zmuda
Ms. Jen has a Masters of Fine Arts with a Choreographic Emphasis from the University of California, Irvine and a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Teaching Emphasis from the University of Utah. She also completed the ABT® Teacher Curriculum Training for Pre-Primary through Level 3.In addition to teaching for the Bexley Recreation Department, she is on the faculty at Ballet Met, dances with SNAP Performance Productions and teaches various workshops.
