This class will be in a circuit and participants will move through three sets of each station. Although this class will include heavier weights and more advanced moves (including floor exercises) it is still appropriate for active aging adults as each person will choose their level of challenge. Equipment is provided.Instructor: Jack Shipe, NASM Certified Personal TrainerJack Shipe has a background in exercise sciences and is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Pilates FA 25 (18+) - Pilates FA 25 (S2) Pilates lengthens and strengthens the muscles as well as uses core strength for every exercise. Although pilates is non-aerobic, it is an extremely effective way to strengthen and condition the muscles of the abdomen and back, thus helping to build a “girdle of strength” around the spine. Programs are offered for boys and girls ages 5 - 14. Volunteer coaches are needed for all age groups! If you have any questions regarding any of our leagues, please contact Andrew Rude at arude@bexley.org or (614) 559-4304.Kindergarten Madness & Rookies Leagues (Boys/Girls)These leagues will learn the basic fundamentals and skills of basketball, play games, and have fun all while enjoying the sport! The hoops will be lowered to an appropriate height for all ages. Practices will be once/week (Sundays). Once games begin in December, teams will have 20 minutes allocated for practice at the start, with the remaining time dedicated to play.Semi-Pro & Pro Leagues (Boys/Girls)These leagues will learn fundamentals, basic team plays and concepts all while enjoying the sport! Practices will be twice/week (one weekday and Sundays) before games begin in December and then will drop to one practice/week during the week once games begin. Tim Stowe League (Boys 7th-8th)This league is for players living in Bexley or surrounding areas, who are not members of a school team. The focus will be on improving the player’s skills that are needed at the Middle School level. Teams will have set practice times, play six regular season games, and conclude with a postseason tournament.NEW Girls 7th-8th Grade TeamWe're currently exploring options for a fun and competitive basketball experience for 7th and 8th grade girls in our community. If your child is interested in playing, please register online. Youth Basketball Program FA 25 (K - 8th Grade) - Youth Basketball FA 25 (Pro Girls 5th/6th) Youth Basketball Program 2025-26 SeasonThe Bexley Recreation & Parks Department is proud to continue to offer youth basketball leagues for the 2025-26 season! Programs are offered for boys and girls ages 5 - 14. Volunteer coaches are needed for all age groups! If you have any questions regarding any of our leagues, please contact Andrew Rude at arude@bexley.org or (614) 559-4304.Kindergarten Madness & Rookies Leagues (Boys/Girls)These leagues will learn the basic fundamentals and skills of basketball, play games, and have fun all while enjoying the sport! The hoops will be lowered to an appropriate height for all ages. Practices will be once/week (Sundays). Once games begin in December, teams will have 20 minutes allocated for practice at the start, with the remaining time dedicated to play.Semi-Pro & Pro Leagues (Boys/Girls)These leagues will learn fundamentals, basic team plays and concepts all while enjoying the sport! Practices will be twice/week (one weekday and Sundays) before games begin in December and then will drop to one practice/week during the week once games begin. Tim Stowe League (Boys 7th-8th)This league is for players living in Bexley or surrounding areas, who are not members of a school team. The focus will be on improving the player’s skills that are needed at the Middle School level. Teams will have set practice times, play six regular season games, and conclude with a postseason tournament.NEW Girls 7th-8th Grade TeamWe're currently exploring options for a fun and competitive basketball experience for 7th and 8th grade girls in our community. If your child is interested in playing, please register online. We'll follow up with more details as plans are finalized.Registration DeadlinesPlease note that even though there is a registration deadline, leagues may reach the max number of participants BEFORE the deadline, which may cause your child to be waitlisted. To avoid this, be sure to register early! *Late registrations may be subject to league availability and a $10 late fee.K-Madness/Rookies/Semi-Pro + Pro: Friday, Oct. 10Tim Stowe (B7-8): Friday, November 14All Basketball Leagues: No basketball Dec. 28, Jan. 4, and Feb. 15. There will be basketball on December 21st.League Evaluations Evaluations for the 1st - 6th grade leagues will take place in mid-late October. More information will be sent out once registration closes. There are no evaluations for the Kindergarten Madness league. Evaluation dates for the Tim Stowe Boy’s 7th/8th grade league will be announced at a later time.Practices & Game DaysPractice days and times for 3rd-8th grade are based on the coaches’ schedules. Be ready to practice on any weekday listed. Practice days/times will be assigned to teams after the coaches meeting. Game days will be on Sundays. There will be one scrimmage (Nov. 30) for all leagues (K - 6th). Games will begin December 7.Coaches Meetings (Location: TBA)All coaches will be asked to attend the coaches meeting as it relates to their league. Items addressed will be coach paperwork, rules, equipment, gym access, and other miscellaneous items. Background Checks, a Concussion Certificate, and completion of Lindsay's law Training will be required for all coaches in the K-8th grade leagues. There will be a maximum of two designated coaches per team.The date, time, and location of the 2025 coaches meeting will be announced at a later date.JTL Day of Champions (1st-6th) & Tim Stowe Tournament (7th-8th)All leagues (K - 8th) will participate in an end of season tournament/day of games depending on the league.
