You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. This class will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful.This is a mat yoga class which will require getting down to the floor and back up again. Gentle Yoga FA 25 (55+) - Gentle Yoga FA 25 (S2) Studies have shown the positive benefits of yoga for all ages. Yoga involves linking the mind, body, and breath. You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. This class will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful.This is a mat yoga class which will require getting down to the floor and back up again. This class will be in a circuit and participants will move through three sets of each station. Although this class will include heavier weights and more advanced moves (including floor exercises) it is still appropriate for active aging adults as each person will choose their level of challenge. Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes FA 25 (55+) - Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes FA 25 Do you feel stiff from your head to your toes? Each week we will focus on exercises targeting different parts of your body while working your way from head to toes. Head and shoulder exercises are beneficial for increasing strength, mobility, and range of motion in the neck and shoulders. Knee mobility exercises help improve flexibility, range of motion, and strength in the knee joint. Toe and foot exercises are beneficial for improving balance, posture, muscle strength, and flexibility in the feet and ankles.This is a class with movement and flow exercises, static and dynamic poses. You will have the option of using a chair or wall while standing, and moving.
