Feeling unsteady on your feet? It is time to implement practices that keep you aware of your mind, body, balance and fall techniques. Practices in this class are focused on fall awareness while stretching, strengthening, breathing, balancing and practicing fall techniques. We will not practice falling on the floor in this class. You will see demonstrations of how to fall safely and how to get up after a fall. Feel free to bring a cane, walker, or any other assistive devices you feel would be helpful. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a water bottle. Studies have shown the positive benefits of yoga for all ages. Yoga involves linking the mind, body, and breath. You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. This class will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful.This is a mat yoga class which will require getting down to the floor and back up again. There will be thousands of glass pumpkins, 30+ local and regional artists that are visiting, live music, demos, food trucks, and more. Feeling unsteady on your feet? It is time to implement practices that keep you aware of your mind, body, balance and fall techniques. Practices in this class are focused on fall awareness while stretching, strengthening, breathing, balancing and practicing fall techniques. We will not practice falling on the floor in this class. You will see demonstrations of how to fall safely and how to get up after a fall. Feel free to bring a cane, walker, or any other assistive devices you feel would be helpful. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a water bottle.
