Have you ever wanted to try yoga, but didn’t think you could get up and down on a mat? Would you like to practice a gentle form of yoga in which you will sit or stand behind a chair? Chair Yoga is modified to be accessible to all. Science has shown that yoga is beneficial for everyone and it is never too late to benefit from exercising.Participants have the option to come in-person or participate via Zoom. Studies have shown the positive benefits of yoga for all ages. Yoga involves linking the mind, body, and breath. You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. This class will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful.This is a mat yoga class which will require getting down to the floor and back up again. This is an outing for the more adventurous eaters - no cuisine is off limits!

These classes reflect the goals and techniques of The CDC's Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths & Injuries (STEADI) Initiative.  Your exercise options will include the use of chairs, while standing, on the floor or at the wall. You should feel safe during exercise practice outside and inside your home. Main Menu: Balance Awareness, Fall Awareness, Mobility, Strengthening, Spatial Awareness, Proprioception and Stretches.  Appetizers and Dessert: We start and end class exploring breath and end with a warm treat!   Weekly Specials include foot health, fear of falling, posture, hydration, reaction time, and vestibular system. To-Go Menus: Exercises &  practice charts will be passed out each week.Snack-tivity suggestions will be listed on the weekly menu!Instructor: Lana Turner, 200 YTT, SilveSneakers, Steadi Program, Balance/Flowlanaturnerchildren@gmail.comLana Turner is a certified yoga teacher with a 200 YTT certification. Have you ever wanted to try yoga, but didn’t think you could get up and down on a mat? Would you like to practice a gentle form of yoga in which you will sit or stand behind a chair? Chair Yoga is modified to be accessible to all. Science has shown that yoga is beneficial for everyone and it is never too late to benefit from exercising.Participants have the option to come in-person or participate via Zoom. Tai Chi is a practice that involves a series of slow gentle movements and physical postures, a meditative state of mind, and controlled breathing. Instructor: Mark Henrythunderbird518@yahoo.com; 614-209-7926Mark has studied Martial Arts for over 40 years and is a certified instructor of the Dr. Paul Liam Tai Chi for Health program. He is also certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes, which uses both the Yang and Sun styles of Tai Chi.

Participants will move through three sets of various stations, which will include heavier weights and more advanced moves (including floor exercises). Instructor: Jack Shipe, NASM Certified Personal TrainerJack Shipe has a background in exercise sciences and is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Jack is devoted to helping people meet their fitness goals and create new ones.

Studies have shown the positive benefits of yoga for all ages. Yoga involves linking the mind, body, and breath. You do not have to be flexible or fit to start practicing yoga. This class will teach you breathing techniques to calm the mind and/or energize the body. You will learn various poses to stretch and strengthen your muscles. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. By paying attention to your body, you will learn to be more present and mindful.This is a mat yoga class which will require getting down to the floor and back up again.
