Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 (18+) - Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 *Session II On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. It was popularized by Eddie Torres, who helped formalize the timing of the dance. On-2 salsa is a style of salsa where the dancers take their break step on the second beat of the measure (“on 2”), as opposed to the first beat ("on 1").This class is meant for beginner to intermediate levels; by the end of this series, you should be totally comfortable attending social dance events here in Columbus. Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. All are welcome!Instructor: Evan FloresOriginally from New York City, Evan Flores learned how to dance at the famous Nieves Dance School. There, he learned how to dance Salsa On-2, and eventually performed with the team at many events around New York and Long Island. Now he's here in Columbus to share the passion of Salsa with you--whether you just want to learn how to dance at social events or take it even further by hitting the big stage! You too can learn, and love, salsa dancing.
