Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. Our class is sure to be a fun and engaging learning and relationship-building experience for children and their caregivers. Whether you're looking for a challenge, need support or just a place to have fun, we meet every child where they are developmentally and can curate our class to all.Instructors: Christina Johnson and Alexis MarinChristina is a licensed Occupational Therapist and has been practicing since 2015. She graduated from Rush University in Chicago with a Masters of Occupational Therapy following a Bachelors of Psychology at The Ohio State University (go bucks!). She has worked with children of all ages and in various settings including a sensory-based outpatient clinic and in early invention. She has two children, Rooney (girl, age 3) and Delta (boy, age 1) and is married to her husband, Matt. She has always used a play-based approach to therapy but was ready to step outside the therapy world and use her background to provide fun, engaging classes through The Play Spot that focuses on building developmental skills with her partner and friend, Alexis (speech therapist). She enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to podcasts, live music, reading and being outside.Alexis has been a practicing speech-language pathologist (SLP) for the past 8 years. She received degrees from Butler University (Go Dawgs!) and Indiana State. Alexis found her passion in pediatrics and has previously served in sensory clinics, schools, and in-home all with a focus on PLAY. Outside of the speech world, Alexis enjoys spending time outdoors exploring in and around Columbus with her two children Jayce and Ayla, partner John, and dog Nyla. She also enjoys self-development podcasts, DIYs, and trying local coffee shops. She's thrilled to partner with her friend and fellow OT, Christina, to mainstream their play skills to the general public and provide fun, educational classes through The Play Spot!

Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 (18+) - Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. All are welcome!Instructor: Evan FloresOriginally from New York City, Evan Flores learned how to dance at the famous Nieves Dance School. There, he learned how to dance Salsa On-2, and eventually performed with the team at many events around New York and Long Island. Now he's here in Columbus to share the passion of Salsa with you--whether you just want to learn how to dance at social events or take it even further by hitting the big stage! You too can learn, and love, salsa dancing.

Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 (18+) - Salsa On-2 Dance WI/SP 26 On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. It was popularized by Eddie Torres, who helped formalize the timing of the dance. On-2 salsa is a style of salsa where the dancers take their break step on the second beat of the measure (“on 2”), as opposed to the first beat ("on 1").This class is meant for beginner to intermediate levels; by the end of this series, you should be totally comfortable attending social dance events here in Columbus.
