This class will provide an atmosphere where you can learn various virtues of the martial arts that include self-discipline, respect, concentration, and competition.Returning Student Early Registration for Fall 2025 Participants (Dec. 1 - 30)All participants who were enrolled in the 2025 Fall TKD program will receive an email to register early. Green belt and up may register for the intermediate class. Beginner (Tue/Thu)Following the principle of continuous improvement, students will learn the basics of Taekwondo from blocks, kicks, and punches to beginner sparring and forms.Intermediate (Mon/Wed) Building on the skills learned in the beginner class, the intermediate class will combine these basic skills into new forms and techniques for sparring and self defense. This is a contact sparringclass and protective gear will be available. Gentle Yoga is not a gym workout, but a body/mind work in. On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. It was popularized by Eddie Torres, who helped formalize the timing of the dance. On-2 salsa is a style of salsa where the dancers take their break step on the second beat of the measure (“on 2”), as opposed to the first beat ("on 1").This class is meant for beginner to intermediate levels; by the end of this series, you should be totally comfortable attending social dance events here in Columbus. Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. It was popularized by Eddie Torres, who helped formalize the timing of the dance. On-2 salsa is a style of salsa where the dancers take their break step on the second beat of the measure (“on 2”), as opposed to the first beat ("on 1").This class is meant for beginner to intermediate levels; by the end of this series, you should be totally comfortable attending social dance events here in Columbus. Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. Taekwondo is the ancient and scientific art of self defense; it literally means the way of striking with the fist or foot. In this class, you will learn dynamic kicks and punches while meeting new friends in a positive environment. This class will provide an atmosphere where you can learn various virtues of the martial arts that include self-discipline, respect, concentration, and competition.Returning Student Early Registration for Fall 2025 Participants (Dec. 1 - 30)All participants who were enrolled in the 2025 Fall TKD program will receive an email to register early. Green belt and up may register for the intermediate class. Beginner (Tue/Thu)Following the principle of continuous improvement, students will learn the basics of Taekwondo from blocks, kicks, and punches to beginner sparring and forms.Intermediate (Mon/Wed) Building on the skills learned in the beginner class, the intermediate class will combine these basic skills into new forms and techniques for sparring and self defense. This is a contact sparringclass and protective gear will be available. On-2 salsa originated in New York, and is often referred to as “New York Style” salsa. It was popularized by Eddie Torres, who helped formalize the timing of the dance. On-2 salsa is a style of salsa where the dancers take their break step on the second beat of the measure (“on 2”), as opposed to the first beat ("on 1").This class is meant for beginner to intermediate levels; by the end of this series, you should be totally comfortable attending social dance events here in Columbus. Dance shoes are recommended for men, and heels are recommended for women, but these are not mandatory. No partners necessary. Midweek Reset will incorporate movement and relaxation. There may be breath work or mediation during the session.  The first 30 minutes will be seated and standing gentle yoga, and the second 30 minutes will be yin yoga, restorative yoga or a combination which will consist of yoga poses that will be held from 2-6 minutes (yin) or up to 15 minutes (restorative).  Class is appropriate for all levels, but getting up and down from the floor will be required. At least once per month, senior center members take various day trips in Central Ohio and throughout the state. Below are the first quarter trips for 2026. Transportation is provided by the Bexley BEAT.
 
9:00 AM - 9:35 AM    Circuit Fitness SU 26 (55+) - Circuit Fitness SU 26 (S1)
This is a class where you are in complete control to challenge yourself under the instruction of a trainer! Participants will move through a variety of stations using body weight as resistance, dumbbells for strength training, and medicine balls for core and floor exercises. Equipment is provided. Please note: The price reflected below is for non-members. The fee for senior center members is $10. Instructor: Jack Shipe, NASM Certified Personal TrainerJack Shipe has a background in exercise sciences and is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Jack is devoted to helping people meet their fitness goals and create new ones.

This yoga class will focus on core strength and flexibility, infusing a blend of Vinyasa Flow and Pilates style movements. It will teach good posture, connect mind-body awareness and build confidence.  Appropriate for those in good physical condition with some yoga experience.  Modifications will be given to allow the student to practice at their own level. This class is for both beginners and those who are still learning the basic poses, but are prepared to work on a more demanding  level in poses.  This class offers basic flexibility poses in different degrees of work. Each class will focus on a different empowerment skill paired with a running skill. Kids will learn power words, goal setting, resilience, positive thinking, and team building. For kids of all fitness levels! Kids will get a great workout while having lots of fun! Each participant will receive a Run Club t-shirt.Instructor: Laura MaddoxLaura Maddox comes from a background in health and wellness with a Master of Science in Nursing from The Ohio State University and is a long-standing volunteer for youth programs in the community. She is excited to combine her passion for fitness and her love for working with kids to give you her youth empowerment program, Oso Fit Kids Run Club.

Have you ever wanted to try yoga, but didn’t think you could get up and down on a mat? Would you like to practice a gentle form of yoga in which you will sit or stand behind a chair? Chair Yoga is modified to be accessible to all. Science has shown that yoga is beneficial for everyone and it is never too late to benefit from exercising.Participants have the option to come in-person or participate via Zoom.
